The Lone Rider

         "The Lone Rider"

i remember the time which we were children and we did not care anything at all, just having fun, and enjoy the moments with our family and friends, those moments marked my life because from that time i have a lot of regards.

once we were at our uncle Dario house, which was located in Don Matias. There were a lot of cousins grouped together playing and running everywhere in the house, when uncle Dario came with two horses and we made a line to mount the horses to be able to ride them. all of us were riding them one by one with so much joy on our faces and I was anxious, waiting for my turn. when my turn finally came, i felt really happy, but after i got on the horse something went wrong and the horse went crazy and started to run and i could not stop it, and the more i tried to stop it, the more he wanted to run, while i was yelling "uncle, uncle, uncle." When the horse finally stopped, it stopped next to a barbed wire and i was almost falling down, but nothing happened and everybody started laughing and i got nicknamed "the lone rider."

Near to Death

Near to Death

I don't remember the exact date and I don't want remember it, but more or less one and a half year ago I had a great disease, I was very very tired by the study, I wouldn't eat good and I couldn't sleep, to next day I got up to go to the university and in the bus I was listening to music and suddenly I felt very dizzy, tachycardia and much pressure in the chest, in that moment I got fainted, when I waked up and I was at the hospital. The nurses made me four nebulizations, two electrocardiograms, six blood tests and one radiography in the chest. I was all day at urgencies and in a blood test resulted the disease, its name is pericarditis, is a inflammation of the pericardium, the fabric that covers the heart. Then of that I was in recovery for three months, I had to take appointments with the psychologist, pills and a great rest.

MY LAST BIRTHDAY By: Bibiana Andrea Velásquez A.

The last birthday I was happy and I was feeling some nerves, but I didn´t know the reason.

I awoke up around ten o´clock, then I brushed my teeth and took  a cold shower.

When I was having my breakfast, I threw all over myself everything  it, it was terrible. Next I went to swim with my niece called Sofia for two hours. She was enjoying all time, she is a child girl very intelligent and pretty.
When we were swimming, we played with a ball a long time and we ate something of peanut, drank sodas and there we were meeting many children too.
Then we were returning to our house, we changed our wet clothes and had a delicious lunch that prepared my mother.
Around of the 3:00 pm o´clock I went with all my family to visit shopping center Premium Plaza, there we bougth some big ice creams of chocolate and brawnnie, next we were playing soccer,  cars chocones, skittles and billar, all that was grand.
In the night I was having a dinner with my friends, we  ate seafood and drank something beer in a restaurant of the city, there they gave me some gifts as: a black blouse, a pair of sandals, a letter and a CD of my favorite group.
Next  we were going to listen good rock music, but while we were dancing  my heel damaged, and I sprained my foot and I got much pain.

 Thanks.

FIELD TRIP IN UNIVERSITY by. Harold Cardona trujillo

FIELD TRIP IN UNIVERSITY
by. Harold Cardona trujillo

One day, some time ago, I went to the university. I was walking to my classroom when suddenly I saw some of my classmates walking towards the university bus, when I asked them what was going on, they told me that we had a journey to a farm in the Valle del Cauca, I freaked out! Because, I did not remember that trip. so, I rushed off to my house pick my suitcase up and go to the university again, but as my classmates were ready they left me, so the only option I had was to go to the bus station and travel alone... After traveling by myself for three hours I could reach them.

THE LAST DAY OF THE SEMESTER

That day was the last day of the semester. I was studying in the university when I remembered that “I owe a buret and a test tube in the lab and if I don´t pay it I can´t register the other semester” immediately I went to near chemical store but I couldn´t buy the buret because I had to buy a 50 milliliters buret and it only had 25 milliliters buret. I freaked. Then, the salesman said “Don´t worry, in front to the minorista there are a big chemical store you can buy it there”.  I took a bus to the minorista. When I arrived there the salesman said, “I don´t have that buret”. Ten minutes later I was in the university glassware I told about the buret with the secretary and she said me “you could pay the burette and gave the receipt to the chemistry technology, and then she came to buret when ready” but I had a problem the buret cost was 70 thousand pesos and I only have 40 thousand pesos. I called my dad to get me money and I went to ATM for the money, I came back to university glassware, page the buret and went to the lab to talk with the chemistry technology. She said me “OK, no problem”. I felt relieved at that time.

My last birthday, I was celebrating with some friends of mine in a night club. We were dancing and drinking and we were there until late at nigth. When we left the bar, we were really drunks.

We decided to go to another place. We were down for Playa Street when suddenly appeared one bevy of men with a gun and knifes. My friends and I were very scared. Each of us were trapped for one this men. They were eight persons and we also. When I look one man was pointing me with the gun, but I felt He was not going to shoot me because I thought the gun was a toy. My friends also thought this, but also we were threatened with knifes.

Slowly, I was walking to another sidewalk and from there one of my friends was calling the police while was shouting like a crazy. The tieves were alarmed with her shout and then they went away. Finally, they didn’t make hurt us, but they stole us some money and phones.
Fortunalety, my friends and I go out well of the robbery and after everything we went to drink other beers to spend the fright and to laugh us for the situation.

LOST TOURISTS

Ten months ago, I went to Lost City with my cousin and her husband. We had an itinerary, but at first everything went wrong, because our travel guide forgot  to write the address to the hotel in Santa Marta. When we were arriving at the city, we didn´t know where we will sleep that night and where were the meeting point the next day for start the expedition. We didn´t know the names. We called him but, he didn´t  answer his cell phone because its didn´t has signal. He was in the mountains near Lost City with other tourists. We were very worried for this. Fortunately we had  friends at the Rodadero and they invited us to spend the night with them.

But the big problem was that the guide travel didn´t find us, and we didn´t find him. We only knew a place` name “El Machete” but we didn´t know how come there.  We asked people for its and they were giving us indications. We were traveling for two and half  hours from "El Rodadero" to "El Machete" while the travel guides looked for us in the dawn town to begin the journey. When we found the place people said us: “you are the three lost tourists” and we were happy to hear this, because now we weren´t anymore lost tourists. One hour later, we met our travel guide at “El Machete” and then we had a nice travel while we were talking and laughing about that experience.

A Ride Around Town

Final Project.

One day I went for a ride around town with my two best friends, we were riding bikes for the streets of Medellin. Their names are Yanet and Jesus.

We made three stops for to take pictures and drinking water actually in the first stop we saw that Jose had a flat tire and did not know how to fix it then did not follow with us and decided to return to his home very sad.

After Janet and me continued  but Yanet tripped over a rock and slipped actually she sprained her hand and also spilled water all we had for the road and the sun was very strong heating.

Then Yanet did not want to keep riding bike and decided to return to his home because she was not feeling well actually this was the second stop we made.

Then I continue riding bikes alone and after a while I found the best scenery to make some good potos in this there are mountains, people, children cars, water and lots of color.

To see this beautiful place called my two friends to come back to see this place, they returned and enjoyed an afternoon of photos.

Finally this was the third stop where we were taking pictures, listening to music and enjoying together.

Two years ago, I was living in Italy and for my birthday I decided to go to Holland and Belgium. I wanted to know the Ana Frank museum, the red street in Holland and Brugge, the Atomium, the Grand Place, and Brussels, in Belgium. I bought a flight with a friend of mine and we went to our destiny. We arrived in Schiphol airport in Amsterdam and we took a bus to the hotel, it was near to the zoo. Two days after we went by train to Belgium and we stayed in the house of our classmate Sara, she is Colombian but she has some relatives in Belgium. That night we went to taste the best beer in the world, then we took the subway to the Grand Place and we were walking around that beautiful place when we found a Bar, we went in and we asked for some beers, while we were waiting for the beers I left my bag on a chair next to me, when we were talking about life and everything, we noticed it was  passed more than fifteen minutes, we were angry, we decided left the Bar and we went to another one. A couple hours later we went back home by train again. At home I went to my bedroom and I noticed I didn’t have my bag, I ran to ask them about my bag but they didn’t know about it. I was crying when Sara said, we have to go back and look for your bag. I agreed, and we ran until the train station again, we were waiting and waiting when the train came. Finally we arrived, we were walking faster, and I saw that the Bar was closed, I left Sara behind me and I ran until the Bar’s door, and there was my bag, just on the chair where I left it, whit my wallet, my Passport and everything inside. That was lucky! It was the longest hour in my life, it was a terrible moment but it had a happy ending.

MY FLIGHT ANECDOTE

some years ago when I was taking a walk in the Jardín town with my boyfriend.  We met good people that counted us about activities that we could make for have a nice trip in that place.  A day my boyfriend was flying in your paragliding  and when he landed asked me ¿would you like fly? so I said that yes. The next day I was flying.  A friend of ours Felipe was driving the paragliding and I was taking photos of my boyfriend flying near of my, of other flight mates and the beautiful view of the town and the scenery around it. But suddenly we were making spins and I felt bad with nausea and the flight had to end.  One hour later when I felt best. I thought it was a very good experience.

I BROKE MY LITTLE FINGER

I want to tell you about my anecdote.
When I was a child I loved to play and I was practicing a lot of sports.
When I was in the high school I was practicing basketball and volleyball and I was competing in the team of mi school.

I remember that in my free time on saturdays in the morning I was in tennis classes and on the sunday I was in swimming classes too.
Everything was very fun and I enjoyed every time.
But one day I was playing volleyball with my friends and somebody threw the ball and in this moment I put my hand and I saw that I broke my little finger.
I was crying because I was feeling pain in my little finger and I was seeing my finger twisted.
Someone called my parents and they arrived to the place. Then they took me to the hospital.
Hours later we got out of the hospital and I had my finger in plaster cast with bandages.

After of the accident three week later I don´t wanted to practice some sports because I was feeling pain in my little finger and you can see that my little finger is twisted.
But In this moment after to many years ago I don't feel pain and fear, and in my free time, I am practicing squash and I enjoy it.

Bad surfing

On July of 2011, I and a couple friends went to Montañita. It is a beautiful beach in Ecuador. The first day in Montañita I went with a friend of mine to rent a surfboard. We didn’t know how to surf but we were excited. We were trying to surf while we understood that if we wanted to surf we had to go further into the ocean. We were having a good time when we realized that we were really far away from the coast. We just freaked out. When we were desperately trying to go back to the coast, I took a wave lying on the surf table. That wave left me just on the coast. I was so lucky. But when I looked back, my friend wasn’t there. He was really far away.
Fortunately, another friend of mine was an excellent swimmer. He swam to catch my friend and brought him back to the coast. He was a hero.

Good Luck!!!

This happened to me a few years ago when I lived in Spain. One day, while I was walking at the Guadalquivir riverside in Sevilla, I found a big wallet with all  credit cards, €870 Euros and a few coins. I couldn´t believe it! I wasn't sure to open or not the wallet, but I opened it, and saw that the owner was from Ireland.

Then I went to the police and I told them that I had found one wallet in the street. Owners were seeking help at the police station a couple 55 years almost when they heard what I was telling the cops, said "it belongs to us", immediately they hugged me and told me "Thank You", a very nice couple.

We went out  and they said to me we want to give the money, and I told them not, it's not necessary. So they invited me to have a dinner the next day and  I was told that at any time could visit them in their country, they gave me their card and their address, and they bought a nice present for me.
